our pups!

Josh and I were laughing the other day about how much our dogs have character.
For instants:
Oakley (our 70 pound and still growing, 10 month old lab) he is a tough boy, but yet such a baby. Last night we put the dog bowls out for them to eat and Oakley runs back and forth between his and Sabians bowl. He barks at Sabian if he tries to eat, it's so mean! So, we decided to stay there and make sure he let Sabian eat. He would try to get real close to us like he wanted us to pet him and then dive for Sabians bowl. We would have to pull him away and say, “no."
When Sabian got done eating he went to Oakley’s bowl, keep in mind Oakley had no intentions of eating, but as soon as he saw Sabian heading towards his bowl he made a mad dash towards it, barking and all!
At night though he is a wiener...If Josh and I are on the couch together he wants to get up on the couch with us, but the problem is he is sooo big that it hurts when all of sudden this big paw tries to climb on you. He thinks he is small or something, but he isn't.
You also have to watch out, because he will either come up and start licking you or just bite your head (he's never done it to me, but he does it to Josh all the time).
The funniest though is Oakley LOVES his bones! We call them his paci or blanket. He always has one in his mouth. We have to make sure there is one outside at all times and one inside, because otherwise he tries to sneak one inside from outside (gross) or vice versa. It's really funny!

Sabian, he has calmed down a lot, but he still loves to run and play! He definitely has that protective nature, thankfully he doesn't bark at every little thing, but if someone comes to the doors or feels suspicious he will bark. It makes me feel safe. He does like to run around the house, leap on the couch and toss all the pillows off...It is extremely annoying!

They both recently feel they can get on our bed whenever they want. They aren't allowed to sleep on the bed when we are both home, and occasionally if Josh is gone late or something I have let Sabian lay down, but Oakley doesn't sit still. But for some reason they both decide at night they are going to jump on our bed and lay down. We tell them "no" and to "get down" but they just keep doing it. Now starting at about 7am they like to wake us up, thankfully they jump on Josh's side of the bed to wake him up so they can go outside. Annoyance number 500!

They act like brothers even fight and need to be left alone and then other times they are sweet and play together or lay around together.

We love having dogs, even though they sometimes don't make my life easier, but they are funny to watch and play with and I've always felt safe knowing we have dogs. However, as much as I love animals I've told Josh we stop at being a 2 animal family.....no more!!!
